£620,000 to be paid by 10Bet in the UK market

In the UK market, the operator will pay the money as part of a settlement with the Commission and donate it to charitable causes.

A section 116 regulatory evaluation of Blue Star Planet was initiated on September 7, 2021, in response to an investigation.

The regulatory evaluation identified deficiencies in Blue Star Planet's procedures, which were designed to safeguard the vulnerable and prevent money laundering (ML). These issues were identified as a consequence of a compliance evaluation that Commission Officials conducted on June 22, 23, 24, and 25, 2021.

Between November 2019 and June 2021, Blue Star Planet contravened numerous licence conditions and codes of conduct.

Throughout the investigation and subsequent regulatory assessment, Blue Star Planet Limited's application of anti-money laundering (AML) policies, procedures, and controls was found to be deficient. Additionally, it identified deficiencies in its implementation of responsible wagering policies, regulations, controls, and procedures.

The Commission also reported that Blue Star Planet had violated licence terms, including the implementation of anti-money laundering procedures, between November 2019 and June 2021.

The regulator subsequently directed Blue Star Planet Limited to pay £620,000 as a settlement in lieu of a sanction, which will be allocated to charitable organisations. The company is also required to contribute £3,571.25 to the Commission's investigation costs.
